Delayed or disordered language

Language includes understanding what others say (receptive language or comprehension) and what the child themselves says in terms of vocabulary used and sentence structure (expressive language). If a child is slow with their language but it is following normal developmental patterns then it is called delayed language. But if it is unusual and not following normal patterns then it is described as disordered language
